
Kathleen Love
PresidentKathleen “Kathi” Love, Ph.D. moved to the Charleston area in 1989. She comes from a close-knit family with 3 sisters and 2 brothers. Her son, Matthew, serves in the United States Marine Corps. Kathi has two grandchildren Connor and Addison who are the loves of her life.
Kathi retired from the North Charleston Police Department in 2017 after 23 years of dedicated service. Kathi is honorable, loyal, and loves her community. Kathi received her B.S. in Criminal Justice and Psychology and her master’s degree in Criminal Justice, all from Charleston Southern University. In 2018 she earned her Ph.D. in Business Administration from North Central University.
Kathi currently is the Chair of the Criminal Justice and Sociology Departments at Charleston Southern University. She spent six years advocating for victims’ rights and seeking justice for rape survivors with People Against Rape (PAR).
Kathi has received numerous awards and recognitions for her steadfast service and dedication to the safety and well-being of the communities she serves.
